Tuna Tartar

I love tuna tartar. Every year for my birthday, my children make it for me!


Ingredients:


Sushi grade tuna -- about 6 oz per person

Soy sauce

Mirin

Sesame oil

Mayo

Basil

Lemon

Sriracha sauce


Cut tuna into 1/4-1/8" cubes and place in bowl. Add soy sauce, mirin and sesame oil to taste -- mostly soy and small amounts of mirin and sesame.


In a blender, combine mayo with basil, lemon juice, a small amount of sesame oil and a small amount of mirin. Puree. Season with salt.


In a bowl, combine mayo with sriracha - I like a lot of sriracha but do to taste.


Serve tuna with sauces and sushi rice if desired.
